Which lens for Survival Laser?

I bought a Survival Laser bundle from Garoq, and there is a side-splash that quite a few 445nm lenses do have I believe.
I'm looking for a lens that will output a more uniformed dot with little to no splash.
I don't want a lens that will increase the power a lot but won't help in my issue, nor a lens which will decrease the power significantly.
I'm not sure what lens it came with but I remember reading 'AR coated glass lens'

I hope I'm not sending the wrong message here, the Survival Laser is a fantastic buy, it's a great laser and I strongly recommend it. It's just that I would really like an almost perfect dot.

:thanks: for reading! :yh:

If the Survival Laser has the 3-element AR coated Aixiz (or equivalent) glass lens,
then that's about the best you can have.
For a "perfect" dot you'd need either a pair of prisms or a cylindrical lens.
Not very handheld-compatible...

These diodes just have a nasty beam profile, is all.

Even with a prism pair, you're not going to get a perfect dot, just more of a square output instead of rectangular. You simply won't get a circular dot from a multi-mode diode that isn't creating a circular beam.

Anselm is pretty much bang on. If you want this to still be a portable laser, 3-element AR coated Aixiz is the closest you'll get to a proper "dot".

Having said that, if you're seeing "splash" and not just "rectangular shape", your lens might just be dirty.

The case is not the dot, I know that is rectangular and I'm fine with that.
It is indeed the splash, and it's definitely not the lens because it's not just my unit, I think this kind of side splash is common with 445nm lasers.
I guess I'll just get used to it.
Thanks for your help!

All The New 3 element glass lenses that i have gotten have these side splash "wings". The old Ones did not have them as bad but they were there.

Not sure what causes this.

Yeah, that's exactly what I have with my Survival Laser!
Oh well, it's not even a major issue.

I think it might have something to do with the new coatings that are supposedly tailored for 445nm. They do seem to pass a few more mW than the old versions.
