Laser no longer works after accidentally hooking up wrong terminals!

I have a 2W 445nm build I'm working on and I guess I accidentally hooked up the wrong poles when soldering the leads to the battery contact. I know the laser was working before because I touched the 2 leads to the battery and it worked. Im not 100% sure what driver I'm using but i bought the module that came with driver and diode from DTR's website. By hooking up the wrong poles to the driver, would it ruin the driver? I'm using 2 18650 batteries

Im using a heatsink as well and never operated it too long so it didn't burn out

Yes if your using the one with the X-drive then it will ruin the driver. Look at the rectangular chip on one side, it may cause a tiny burned area in one corner of the chip. Sorry for your loss. Some drivers have reverse polarity protection and some don't.

Actually it has reverse protection but they only work so long. If it is prolonged it will blow the driver. Good thing is the driver does protect the diode in this event so it just needs a new driver. If you want shoot it back and I can rebuild it for you for the cost of a driver.

I have a diffrent driver, can anyone tell me how to find out if its the driver or the diode?

Use a test load on a driver and see how much current is flowing through it.

If it behaves normally, the diode is blown. Otherwise, driver is blown.
