How to extract A-140 diodes from projector ?

Like the title says. How do I extract diodes from the laser array ?

This video shows it's easy to take out the array itself :

Is it difficult to get the diodes out from the heatsink ?

Are they glued in ? They must surely be soldered in.

They are not glued in or soldered in
The only thing holding them in place is a bit of non hardening thermal compound and there ribbon cable.
Once you detach the cable a slight push will drop them out of the heatsink.
i extracted 48 lasers in under 30min not counting all the playing around i did with all the parts.
And so far there has not been one dead laser all perfectly working .

^ thats good news, i haven't taken the projector any further apart than what you see in
the vid. Its good to know it will be easy to harvest when the time comes.

oh yeah i harvested every part from mine and have had so much fun. it has a nice copper tec in it.
But if your thinking of extracting everything you will want a ton of anti static safety measures.
A esd mat, esd wristband, esd containers, and esd protected iron.
If you are missing even one of those you are risking killing the lasers.

Yup they are always good to have.
I am more curios as to what the point of the thread is he going to be buying a projector to extract or is it just curiosity of how we do it?
