Has anyone done anything with FAC, yet?

The title pretty much say it all. Also, a source for suitable lenses would be nice. I did the google thing, and every website I found was a "contact for pricing" sort of deal, which leads me to believe that they'll expect mass orders.

I think FAC is very small just bigger than the die that emits the light in the diode.. So you would have to dee can the diode, wich is not ezzy. do a shearch for IR diodes with a FAC.

From a post at PL,
"The FAC is a very thin (200um or so) piece of glass fiber in the long axis of the emitter face"

Aamorphic prisms like this link, or Cylindrical lenses are the best ways to correct the beam. Allso I think LarryDFW has a Cylindrical lens in the works ;)

The Aixiz 405 glass lens is a very good lense for these diodes it will make a line dot. But if you set the lense to infinity then tighen the lense a bit more to make the slow aixis taller, to mach the size of the fast aixis, IT make's the divergence equal on both the fast & slow aixis's, its not bad at all.
