If they can guarantee delivery, it's not bad.

Mainly I'm endorsing this, because if the shipment is confiscated, WL gets screwed :eg:

I recently acquired a Krypton and an Arctic, if that laser is this same 'revised' version
by way of construction, I would avoid it at all cost. I will be posting a review of my lasers,
with some shocking observations. Seems they will not stop at anything to save on production costs...

Just a few pennies on this for now

Do you have an oscope? I've always wanted to test the ripple and start up spike on their drivers, but I have never owned an arctic/krypton.

@OP Why not Jetlasers? They have good quality.

I have a scope, but never bothered. The first arctic I got had badly stripped tail
cap threads, and just converted it for optics testing. The driver is sitting in a drawer if you want it.
Just cover the shipping. Its missing the batt monitor LED board, I used that for something else.

IIRC, the driver works fine. The only thing is its an older ver driver, and im not sure
if they changed anything there, but you're welcome to it.

The issues noticed so far is in the construction / assembly. I would
explain here, but dont want to threadjack, and dont have detailed pics of it yet...

Exactly---you would be much better off with a Jetlasers PL-E 445nm, 1000mw at $299 or 1500mw at $329. Higher level of product, continuous duty --excellent focus mechanism. ??PL-E mechanical switch 1W and 1.5W 445nm 447nm 450nm Blue Lasers, focusable.

Contact Gray at support@jetlasers.org Tell him you are a LPF member---ask for best price possible and he will give you a discount---also double check if he will guarantee delivery to Australia ( I think he will do)

Hahaha, okay point taken I suppose :/ til then I will send some happy photonic vibes your way! Your best bet in the end is probably going to be purchasing whatever watt/wavelength combo you want in module form and then getting a drop in kit made. It might be expensive but:

1. You will have complete customization of the laser you want.
2. You can get whatever power/wavelength choices you want without worrying about customs(I think....it is only complete lasers they give sh*ts about, right?).
3. No need to worry about shoddy companies ripping you off(since shoddy companies are probably the only ones willing to ship to Australia).

Just some thoughts...

hello Jake,
Hope you are doing well.
Thanks for your trust in our products and i know you are pro and a LPF member, hah..
Yes, we can guarantee the laser arrives safe and well otherwise we will resend until it does or issue full refund.
Which laser you decide to get now?

Best regards,
Gray

Gary's Email, hope it's true..cause i'm gonna order

I don't think I'd buy it if it were half that price because the only thing I consider a WL laser good for is the host to gut for some other components.
