Hi everyone.

After I failed my Arctic Modification Project (1V loss at the tailcap using a boost drive... This host should just be locked away) I started searching another host which works of a 18650 and has good heat sink capabilities. After searching I came across "lazeerer's Personal C6" and really loved the idea.
I decidet to do a similar build using a Survival Lasers S4 host.
The bad thing was I had absolutely 0 experience using a lathe. So it was time to get some...^^

After polishing it got blasted with glass beads and anodized in black. I did this to get a close finish to the original finish. I got no pictures from the single steps because I always have bad luck when making pictures, but I actually had to do every step 2 times because I ruined the thread inside the heat sink.

The main piece is over 130g of Aluminum. When I tested my diode inside the host to see its output It got barely warm, no comparision to a standart sized C6 heat sink...

The finish I tried to get with blasting and anodizing turned out very nice but you can see the difference to the other parts of the host, even though in real its a tiny bit less obvious than in the pictures.

The main part fits 2 o-rings to hold the focusing adapter tight and makes it harder to turn but also smooth. It works out really nice, no need for a spring or anything (But I think I will still add one :p)

The heat sink is directly threated to be screwed on the S4. This thread and a little bit to much sodium hydroxide ruined my complete first attempt just one step before beeing finished...

Im still waiting for some parts to finish this laser. (Mostly contact parts but also a new S4... When working on the parts it fell down and got some damage. Its not that bad but its really disturbing me, so I will replace them and use the old for a smaller project...

The diode (M140) will be powered by 2 "ancient" micro boost drives each at 900mA. Maybe I will replace them if I find some nice boost drive running 1.8A from a single Li-Ion cell. But my tests showed 2 drives can go pretty low until they start to reduce the output.

And to prevent the swich from being roasted I replaced it with a McClicky. :D

So I hope my missing parts will soon arrive so I can put everything together and finally have my first Laser over 2W... :)
