Frank told me I should use a bit of cleaning solution. I didn't have any, so I used two drops of clean water, which worked perfectly.

Random? Pfft, i'm not dumb. The first "random" idea I had was to use a Q-tip. I remembered hearing that the lens scratches easily and I didn't want to do it. Then Frank said I should use a trimmed Q-tip, which I still thought was a bad idea, but he knows more on the subject than I do. Turns out that if I just used 2 drops of water in the first place, I wouldn't have had a problem.

Water has impurities use 90%+ rubbing alcohal so it doesnt leave water marks

Yeah, that's why I use distilled water, but i'll probably just use rubbing alcohol in the future.

Hmm ive had my spartan for 6 months now never had a problem with a dirty lens I use those little round paper sticker to cover mine when not in use

The benefits to using alcohal over distilled water, if you accidentally added a little to much alcohal when cleaning it will evaporate faster than water making the drying time significantly less, and less risky of using an aid to dry it your self with an abrasive surface.

It's best to just spend a few bucks and get a GOOD lens pen
