Just a few silly shots of My newest 445nm torching a Cadbury Creme Egg. So without further ado drool and enjoy. BTW burnt Chocolate really doesn't smell as good as you would think.

Aligning the laser... Doesn't the symbol on the Egg look like the Laser Radiation Symbol?

Note as the Chocolate melts it reflects more of the radiation away from the Egg. I have more Eggs so I might do this again, and I'll see if I can punch a hole completely through the Egg.

I know what You mean it's hard to even give one up for science. It's sacrifice will not be in vain.

I'll try to punch a hole through the one I've already terrorized, because if I try to Harm another one the Wife will cut My pecker off. That being said no further Creme Eggs will be sacrificed for science at My house.

lazeerer I'm having trouble punching all the way through. Between the melting chocolate and the gooey filling it's just not doable. I could melt the whole damn thing, but whats the fun in that.

In my younger years, I would have thought evil thoughts about you for ruining a perfectly good Cadbury Creme egg. Now that I'm older and actually know how much they cost, I just have to say "Cool laser, dude!"

for burning through something that smokes, would you not be better off in pulses? burning constant-duty means after burning starts, you waste most of your energy reflecting off smoke.

you should put a really powerful fan to blow the smoke away - not only will it help to burn better since the smoke isnt in the way

but it will look cool, like something entering the atmosphere maybe

I set my cadbury egg on fire with my 2W lab laser the other day. Sugar caught fire!
I will post a video on here when I do it again! :)

Chocolate bunny eye surgery anyone!

Flaming rabbit, trips are for kids.

I suspect paraffin wax and overheated sugar was the reason for the flaming egg. Some cheap as Sh!t chocolate contains paraffin wax to prevent melting a room temperature or high heat. yummy. Petroleum byproduct eggs, laid by the Ghadaffi bastard bunny! My laser is powerful enough to set most everything on fire when focussed down properly. Haven't been able to punch Al foil yet, but I can melt silver soldier quite well. :(
Today I did some test shots at 25ft and managed nicely to set some thick cardboard on fire after the beam passed through a small magnifying lens. pretty good results!
