Hey guys,
I just pulled the trigger on some parts for my first build. I'd appreciate it if someone could look over the list and let me know if there's anything else I will need, or if something isn't going to work well together.
Diode: 445nm M140 Diode In Copper Module With Leads & 405-G-2 Glass Lens
Host: DIY S4™ Host Assembly, Unmarked
Extension: Battery Extension Tube- Black Anodized Aluminum
Driver: Survival Laser Fixed Current Driver (ordered 1.5A, expecting this to give me around 2W of output according to the tests on DTR's Shop.)
Batteries (2): 18650 Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh High Discharge Flat Top (Already have these from my other hobby, vaping.)
Charger: Intellicharger i2 (Already own this too)
And most importantly, glasses: Eagle Pair® 190-540nm & 800-1700nm OD5 Laser Safety Goggles. I watched a video on some OD4 glasses from the same manufacturer and was impressed with how well they worked on a comparable laser, and I'd imagine these should work even better.
My main concerns would be the compatibility of the driver with the diode, and the flat top 18650's stacked in that enclosure + extension being the right length with flat top batteries. I'm 99% sure it's good to go but just wanted to be positive so I'm not missing anything when stuff shows up!
Also will be locking everything in a pelican case when not in use and probably will CNC a cap for the laser too just for additional safety. :thanks:
