I burned a mosquito with my 445nm. One of the first things I did with it :p
Very powerful lasers. Even with the "dot" (rectangle) being at over 1 inch it'll burn skin almost instantly :eek:

On the subject of skin burns, at work I was showing a friend a lil 30mw pointer. Explaining the dangers etc... told him it can only burn / heat black things so the main danger is eyes and reflections into eyes. He held up his arm and said "yeah, but I AM black". Had a doh moment, had never thought about it. Wonder what the difference in skin burn-ability is.

How unfeasably bored must you lot be to be using lasers for burning instects, insulating tape and match heads?!?! - Thankfully people tend to grow up, move on from such mewling, childish activities and begin to serve a perpose for the air they repetitively suck.

I killed mosquitos with my 540nm br laser, of course with wearing goggles and my girl outside of the room.

I think a video would be more effective to show that the insect was actually taken out by the laser... I have gotten a few spiders in my house with my 405@550mW but it's a lot harder than it sounds. Those darn bugs move to fast. Bug bombs are much more effective for ridding a house of pests indoors :)

tape the laser to the camera. two bugs at one time, literaly ;)

Haha Ash, that video is cool!!! Laser mosquito killer with a laser tracking system! I guess that's something like the systems used to shoot missles out of the sky but at a much lower level?
