Hey, my friend is looking to buy a powerful 445nm laser, he wanted over 1W.
The first place I told him to go to is LPF

Now, he doesn't really understand this hole laser thing, so heres what he needs:
over 1W
cheap
good heatsink (the bigger the better)
445nm of course
someone trustable that you know is gonna supply the best laser
focusable (if it's not clear from the beginning)
a good lens.. doesn't have to be the 405-G but it needs to be good

Oh and he wants a complete laser out of the box, no putting things together at all (even if it's without soldering)

:thanks:

I'm a newbie....but already have quite a collection I never planned on puchasing.

Survival lasers 1.3 watt unit for $139 I think is good choice.

It went together in under 2 minutes...and came with everything. VERY EASY!

Runs on cr123a batteries available anywhere. Well built sturdy host.

Lights matches and firecrackers from 6 feet away! (appox)

Mine spec'd out at 1233 mw.

I purchased it for my son serving in Afghanistan, but fooled with it for a few days before shipping it.

He's had it for a couple months now and carries it in a holster with a Molle clip I included from a different source.

They flash the Taliban snipers quickly to freak them out and buy some time to get to cover.

May not what your looking for, but i thought it was a fair price.

Currently selling this laser: http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-1-1w-aurora-c6-blue-445nm-laser-jayrob-focus-adapter-67466.html

It has an aluminum heatsink, but handles heat quite well. I'd keep the duty cycle to one minute, two minutes maximum, ideally 1 minute on, one minute off.

Does over 1.1W consistently. Also on one 18650 battery the output drops quite a bit, so while still dangerous, it's not quite as dangerous... if your friend is new to lasers that might help.

Woah, that's awesome. Survival Lasers for real.

My son said the enemy is used to the red dot weapons lasers and the green ones are common. The military issues some Flash Gordon looking ones that are bulky and heavy pistol style with a scope mounted on top:thinking:. Some guys in his unit had 445's sent by family and I guess it's the color and power that freaks them out. Like some new rocket weapon is about to launch. The enemy snipers stay down or completely move out when they see that blue flash coming. Quite effective I'm told.

The one I sent is still working after a few months. He had a cheap green chinese one that puked in a week before I sent him the SL.

He's been asked quite a few times if he would sell it.

I was going to send him a DTR 2 watt MDXL I got...but that is staying with dad:beer:
