Well I pulled the trigger on a custom Ehgemus host. I prolly should have waited on one that had a pill housing instead of a module with set screws, but I made due and am glad I did.
I also quickly came up with a way to both cool and ground the driver. I will have to re-take some picks of how I was able to achieve this as I have found that some of my photo's were over-written by me in attempt to get my wives B-Day:bday: photos uploaded.:yabbem:

The reason that the grounding was a little of an issue was the 9mm diode does not have a case pin, this coupled with my choice of driver was somewhat of a challenge to overcome. One more thing... if you look at the set screws they are set back quite a bit, that means you would have to use the back half of the module. I had to "skirt" the back of the module then place the ICs heatsink so that it came into contact with the inside of the 12mm hole in the host. The things we do to cool our drivers:whistle::beer:

Parts:
9mm 445nm diode
X-drive @1.87
Copper module/G9 lens
2 18650 batteries until my 26650 arrive

I will be updating this build shortly. I love this host. I feel after you see my fix for cooling and grounding you will be pleased and hopefully it might help someone out. I always wanted an Ehgemus host and now I will say it is one beast of a host:beer:

Check back after I update Titiansfist, and as always LPF members get out there and build. Thanks for looking. -jander6442
:thanks:

Very nice!!! I too have experienced the difficulties in working with such a host. I am excited to see how you solved the grounding issue.

Very nice! :) It would also serve quite well as a truncheon! :p Any idea what its output is?

I have not tested the unit yet, but I have binned it and so far it is my sweetest 9mm power vs current.:eg:

Well not to keep you waiting I basically took a c-clip that would fit this unit and sanded it down on the surface. Then I soldered a wire to one of the holes
and pushed it just in the host. Then I used 2 sided 3m tape to adhere the spring board to the clip leaving a groove for the wire to sit in between the tape and lined up the spit in the ring with the wires and viola nice hardy ground. It did turn out clean to.
