Well this mod was much too time consuming to ever do again so don't bother asking. First off the device uses 3 AAA batteries. Comes with a 5mW red. The driver of the spiro will not take more than 5V. The mod to turn this into a violet laser is much easier. OKay sooo. In order to get this thing to power a 1 watt 445nm laser I had to switch all 3 batteries to 10440 batteries. I also had to isolate the battery power going to the spiro and the battery power going to the laser. Now the spiro runs on a single 10440 and the 445nm laser runs on 2 10440 batteries. To do this I went and drilled 2 extra holes in the batter holder and ran wires to the respective battery leads. I also spit one of he metal plates that connected 2 of the batteries. I ran wires into the device from the attery input leads. Because the laser now operates seperately from the spiro I needed to install a button for the laser to turn on and off. I installed a contant on/off clicky top center. Seemed like a good place for it. I installed a driver in the empty space in the spiro with ease. As for the laser module I used a heatink that is made for the pocket mini. It is perfect size to fit right in the corner of the spiro. The cool thing about this mod compared to previouse mods is now you can select just a straigt beam if you choose. Fun for burning or just pointing into the sky or what have you. Here are some pics and a short vid. I will try to get better vid.
