Default 420nm InGaN/GaN Diode Simulation and Optimization

I found this article which shows how multiple quantum state laser diodes are constructed and simulated. The actual procedure for growing crystals (reference 10 in the article) is not shown but rather how they work. I thought you guys might enjoy this read about how all the diodes you're using work.

I've noticed a lot of people think lasers work by using two doped semiconductors sandwiched together, and this works, but high powered lasers use several layers of doped semiconductors and I think this article clears up this misconception. Laser diodes today use this "multiple quantum state" type laser which is also called multiple state laser for short.
