Just got mine in today from DTR. He does have the goods!
Good thing I'm a God fearing man.
This thing is ALL BUSINESS! Anything you pass in front of the beam immediately bursts into flames. And this is only the 1w version, right now I definitely do not see a need for anymore than that. Even though I can put a more powerful driver in it later if I decide.
I'm 49 years old, this is one of the coolest things I've seen and been able to mess around with so far in my lifetime!
I'll put a screen shot up as soon as I decide how I'm going to do that. I don't want anyone laughing at my HS setup.

Possible problem with this one. I just put it on my amp meter and its drawing 2.4 amps. I thought the microboost was only able to draw around an amp.

Yea that is probably normal if the battery is a little low. The Microboost has a 3A input limit. When boosting it will draw considerably more current than it is sending to the diode. Boosting voltage is not a very efficient process.:)

Also you may be adding extra resistance or something with the meter. If you were to power it on a variable power supply @ 4.2V it would probably be drawing more like 1.8A.:)

That works for me. Thanks again DTR!

Well just put a fresh panasonic 18650 battery on it and its now drawing 2.7 amps.:wtf:

So, the microboost is burning off around as much amperage as it is using in the diode?

This is what I think of the piece of $hit "suzie" from o-like sold me last week. Lets put some light on the subject shall we... 29 bucks overseas and down the toilet. Thing lasted all of about a day before it died. I wish it was made out of plastic so I could blast a hole through it!

I had an issue with a lens and Susie was happy to ship me another. You should contact her.

Yea, I bought it off the bay. Insulted me with a 5 dollar refund. REALLY pissed me off!! I all but told him to go @#!& himself/herself! Next time I even think about buying anything from asia, I'll get in my truck, go and find a homeless vet and give him the money.

Lol sounds more rewarding.

Yeah I have only ordered lasers from the " good " Chinese suppliers. I jut can't roll the dice like that, even with under $50 .

Well ,, now you know, buy from the forum! The piece of mind is worth it. But I can't really say " worth it" because the forum is cheaper,,so,,,,,no brainier.

Yep, lessons learned. If I had a dollar for every...

Lately its just been the culmination of one piece of garbage after another that finally made me crack.:gun:
Techhood on the bay is good. I've got some good deals there.

He's the only place I will order module, and really anything laser related on eBay. Even if the other sellers are cheaper, I end up going with techhood just to be sure.

Just got a 120mw 532 module from him and its 123mw and holds better than my laserbtb 532. It's very stable and very clean. Only $30 too.

500mw 808
400mw 650 single mode
All from techhood, all perfect.
