Blinking diode means mostly overheating driver. What driver are you using and did you heatsink it ?

What kind of battery are you using? I believe he has one of my drop ins that have the driver in the pill. I get people every once in a while that are using bad batteries specially in the smaller hosts and they will do this but as soon as they swap them out for a quality battery the unit will run 2 minutes plus without issue.:beer:

Looks like the host takes a pretty small cell. If it is a 16340 size then try this cell.
