Re: FS: Blue Hotlight Kit

Are you planning to make a similar budget kit with a different flashlight?

Re: FS: Blue Hotlight Kit

Nope. Not unless you can find me a flashlight that I can buy in bulk for $0.50 each.

The only one i can get for the same price is the green one...and it's not a proven laser host yet....

Re: FS: Blue Hotlight Kit

Well it was a tight squeeze but finally got the blue host kit fitted with a lpc-815, 2x TrustFire Protected 16340 880mAh 3.7V Rechargeable Li-Ion Batteries, rkcstr driver.
Had to hack into the black spacer and trim the spring to make it fit and hot glued a few things lol so it works fine at 350ma nice long beam at night......
Also worked out only needed 3 wires, 2 from the output to the diode and 1 active from the batt to the driver input, looks like the neutral comes in from the diode from the battery's saves 1 wire.

Re: FS: Blue Hotlight Kit

How did you do it?

basically just put the entire thing into some Sodium Hydroxide and leave it until the anodising comes out. may take a wee while. and the end result WILL be bad. it will oxidize and look awful so be prepared to sand down and polish. you can find Sodium Hydroxide in drain cleaners. almost all of them will have. just get some hot water, just enough to cover the pieces of aluminium and add some drain cleaner. and just wait a few hours. some say the aluminium will bubble and all. but mine didnt. it just came of slowly. il post some pic up in a few minutes

EDIT:

her are pics

Re: FS: Blue Hotlight Kit

I've successfully done it to a guidesman, using greased lightening, but when I tried with a blue hotlight, i didn't work. Not all the blue came off and it turned a weird brown.
