Ok, finally finished the focus rings tonight, so tomorrow night and this weekend i'll be assembling hosts and will start shipping on monday. So they're now back in stock.

They just took so long due to it being so damn hot and humid here this past week, and I haven't been inclined to spend large amounts of out in the shop in it.

I got my focus ring today, and it was exactly what I asked for! Except what I asked for wasn't exactly what I needed. :banghead:

But, after about 15 minutes worth of sanding down the back flat edge it is.

qumefox, just for future reference, for anybody else asks for a focus ring like what I asked for, the lense threads cannot be drilled so deep, otherwise with the beam cannot be properly focused.

Entirely my fault, because he gave me exactly what I asled for, I just didn't ask for exactly what I needed. :)

Actually I always want the threads too deep(within reason) on a focus adapter that way I can use both a G-1 or an Aixiz lens which require them to be @ different depths to focus properly and still have the adapter flush with the heatsink.

All you need to do is use a lot of Teflon on the very top edge of the lens so that when you screw it into the focus adapter it gets very tight and I use a pair of needle nose pliers and a piece of leather to adjust it to the perfect depth so that when the laser is just a half turn past infinity(using that term lightly with the 445) it is flush with the heatsink.:)

Here is one I just set.

Actually, they're deep so you can use different lenses with different focal lengths.. What you do is wrap the lens in teflon tape so it'll be tight enough to not spin when you thread it to the depth you want.. This is pretty much how anyone's focus rings work.

*edit* Damnit. DTR beat me heh.

I actually have more like he got, though it's just like the ones on the sipiks except without the back notched. I made some plain and some knurled. I also made some knurled notched focus rings for the sipiks as well that i'll probably offer as an option while they last.

I've actually started looking at farming out both the heatsinks and focus rings since they take me so damn long to make... and so far it looks like it might be doable and be able to keep the same pricing, so long as I order them in large enough batches.

Manual lathes aren't good for production work heh.

I need to list those focus rings and my chargers up for sale but to be honest, selling out of a thread and by PM's is kind of a pain.. So i've been trying to get a webstore up and functioning in my spare time as well.

I agree with that one. One-off stuff is fine by hand. But, make 30 of this and 20 of that gets tedious. ;)

I was wondering when you were going to start a webstore.... It was only a matter of time. :)

Ordered my Spik HK-21 host kit yesterday and will be installing the drop in 445 hot diode/driver assembly from DTR. Will post some photos when both arrive and are assembled. Can't wait! :)

If you need a bit of help with getting your site up let me know.

Also, I need 2 red and 2 blue glass lenses, could you PM me the total with PP and shipping?

I don't really need help with that. I just need somebody to figure out how to cram another 12 hours or so in a day. :tired:

And yeah, i'll do it when I get to the office. I'm on my way out the door right now.

Another bump, and also PRICE DROPS. woo. Sipiks are back to their original 47.50 price, and both lenses have been marked down as well.
