This testing was done in Denmark by "HKJ" who posts over in the Candlepower Forum.

It is a very good study of many current #18650 cells.

It is amazing that the Panasonic 3400mah puts out 5A,

much longer than the high current "IMR" cells.

Update on International shipping:

An inexpensive circuit will be required to ship them internationally.

I have found some very inexpensive equipment to ship the cells in.

I think two cells will ship for $8, in an inexpensive circuit holder.

Three/Four cells will ship for $11, in an inexpensive circuit holder .

From what I've gathered from net, this is what others are reporting concerning the PF cells. This info. is all copy and paste and did not come from me:

Different chemistry to the PD. LiNiCOMnO2. The PD has Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminium core and the PF has a Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide core. The PF chemisty should be better for longer high drain applications and should be less prone to damage over time.

Yes, that's the improved PD. It runs even cooler on high Amps, and improvement on voltage drop. Nothing significant. 30-40 mAh more in capacity as well.'

it just shows that any improvement they can make they will and panasonic is staying busy in the R&D dept

Just goes to show, you can king kong this, and 32650 that, but 18650 is where it's at! :beer:

It is interesting that 18650 seems to be where all the "action" is.
I do own 2 pair of the Kongs but only have 1 unit that takes them. Not really into that size of a unit. Just doesn't seem "elegant" once you get that big regardless of output.
I'm only 5'5" and have small hands so that may be a part of it. Do own a 7 D cell maglight from way back when but I would consider the reason to carry it has more to do with it's like holding a baseball bat for protection than carrying a light.
A laser that takes an 18650 generally feels good in the hand for overall size.

I would like to add one important reason I have started offering the Panasonic PF cells: SAFETY

Lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) offer lower energy density, but longer lives and inherent safety. Such batteries are widely used for electric tools, medical equipment and other roles. NMC in particular is a leading contender for automotive applications.

The specs would seem to indicate a Panasonic cell.

If so, @ $21, it is still too expensive for a 3400mah cell with a protection FET.

Placed an order for 4 cells on 4/30/14, with the positive terminal added.
Can't wait to get them.

Added some Panasonic cells capable of 10 amp continuous output.

These would be good for high current demand lasers & lights.

Capacity is high @ 2900 mah for a power cell.
