Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

Can you peel* the sleeds and just ship the diode in heatsink?
If so I would like 3 x LPC-826.

*The only LOC sleed's I have seen took app. 5 sec a piece.

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

I could be wrong - but I bet the 826 comes as a bare diode.
Glenn ?

what what what?? closed can, bare diode!! how come this wasnt mentioned before? that makes me much more comfortable. Last two LPC-815 sleds glenn sent me, i LED'ed one while extracting somehow. those heatsinks are not soft like the blu-rays.

Glenn I'd be down for (2) LPC826s and (1) BDR-S06J if it's $40.00

That is nice, less postage and less bulky in my mailbox. :)

I am in for 3.

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

It might not have been mentioned - potentially because Glenn doesn't have these yet? I'm not sure. Maybe you guys should wait for the final nod from Glenn before taking my or Anselm's word for it.

The only reason I said bare-diode, was that the ones I got via GB over at PL were. That doesn't mean these are too... ?

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

yeah, actually my bad, they are open can!
Sorry, I remembered it wrong!

I suppose they are all coming from the same source now, don't they?
On the german forum they immediately did a 2nd groupbuy from the same guy IIRC.
I was going by this picture. It's the one on the left.

I would bet they're all coming from laser-xh. And are you 100% sure that's a photo of the 826 and not the 822?

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

I'm not 100% sure, I'm just parrotting from what I saw and read on laserfreak.net.
The LPC 822 is the one the right in the photo.
According to them.

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

That confuses me even more.

I was under the impression that:

815 die size < 822 die size
822 die size ~=~ 826 die size

Going by that I would have assumed:

Left (822) Right (815) or
Left (826) Right (822)

But I may be totally mixed up here. It doesn't really matter though :)

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

I can confirm that the 826 die size is larger than the 815 die size. I do not have a 822 to compare.

Re: New Fast Sled GB (inc. LPC-826)

I'm fairly certain that 826 = 822 > 815 (die size wise)

However, I'm not sure very many people have 822s anyway, so maybe it's an irrelevant point that I made ;)
