Actually, the formula, aka "Ohm's law", is I = U/R
If you use a 0.1 ohm resistor, then I = U/0.1, meaning 1mV = 10mA.. Only if you use a 1 ohm resistor does 1mV mean 1mA, because there R = 1, and U/1 = U.[/quote]

thanks, laser successfully created, its awesome! just one question, it seems that i can't set pot to output more then 80mA. could it be ebcause of the wires or am i missing something? how to operate pot correctly?

In the lower range, I have never gotten one to put out more than 100mA
At the upper limit of the pot turn, it is very sensitive to small turns.

The upper limit of the low range seems to be about 106mA experimentally, and the lower limit of the high range starting out around 112mA in my tests. turn very sloowly

havent ever used one of these before. can it run efficiently on 2 Ni-MH batteries? just wondering cuz it says 2.5v min. and these would be 2.4v :-/

It can, it will even work down to 2.3V, but it's best if you don't try to power 400mA with that combination, keep it to blu-ray.
