The green module will also have to be pulled out of the pen tube. If that power is correct then it is way overkill to balance with the Blu-Ray (our eyes are way more sensitive to green than red or violet (Blu-Ray). I suppose you can keep it at that full power and balance it in the software. Then if you want to do some supper bright green effects you can easily adjust it.

Got mine in the mail yesterday.. Can't wait to try it out!

I was kinda surprised how small it is, I had imagined it to be bigger. This is going to be easier to fit into some kind of portable enclosure than I thought.
I've attached a pic of it next to a jayrob sidebutton and a rayfoss host for comparison.

Thanks for the replies chaps!

Based on your advice I've ditched the big-ol-red and stumped up for a nice new 300mW one in an Aixiz: 300mW+ 650nm Red High Power burning Laser Diode Module on eBay (end time 25-Nov-09 07:31:47 GMT)

I've also got an additional 100mW green in a 12mm brass package ready to go rather then the pointer so I'm all set (should be less of an issue overpowering the Red & Blue too).

I'd certainly take you up on that offer of a kit sometime next week Ryan!

Yea my camera does fairly good close ups. down side is that things look bigger than they really are.

I'm putting together some alignment videos soon. It will be in 3 video segments. The first one being mirror position, the next being mirror angle and the last being adjusting for far alignment.

Here is step 1:

Oooh, I can't wait to see the rest. That's a lot of work your doing by the way with the pre assembled kits. I'm sure everyone who ordered one will greatly appreciate your work.

I do too. The one caveat with the loaded kits is that shipping may misadjust the heat sinks and therefore the long distance alignment. I don’t know how much if at all so we will see. That adjustment is the easiest so all in all I think people will be ok with that.

Here was an attempt at step 2. I need to do another take on it because the quality is poor and the narration needs work so it’s not worthy of the first post but it does have the basic gist of how to do it.

Update: I'm expecting a batch of GGWs and LPC diodes at the end of the week for all who requested "Loaded" kits. I should also have the Kits ready for the first batch of 4 using the 30mW Greenies I have in stock. I have a batch of 50mW greenies in rout for the next round of 4 as well.

FireMyLasers drivers are ordered for when he gets the parts he is waiting for and can build and send them.


If you are interested in the kit only without the installation and alignment service I can have one ready for you by the end of the week. Please let me know.

Thanks Jay. I hope it helps people who are doing there own do it right and be succesful. I know it took me a few to figure it out and maybe I can save some people some of that pain.

I just want another take with a higher resolutions. I would also like to show the installation of the mirror lined up to the dot from the first step. Nothing too critical just being a perfectionist.
