Glad to hear that you got your LaserBee 2.5W USB LPM...
What do you mean by "uncertainty".... We are certain that

As to the User Instructions.... Any Laser over 1 Watt is considered
a High Powered Laser

Hey Roger..

Yes we received your order... Thanks..
I'll post on the 1st post of the LaserBee 2.5W USB
Sales Thread when your LPM Ships out...

Jerry

I mean what's the uncertainty in the reading of the power meter.

If you are asking for the accuracy of the LaserBee 2.5W USB
it is within 5%-10% or better.

Picked up the LPM yesterday, although delivery was attempted on Saturday but I was not home, so pretty good delivery time to the UK. Very happy with the product. I have tested a couple of lasers, images are attached of the results.

Does something like this need calibration periodically or have a lifespan?

We've had an original LaserBee I in our shop for over 3 years
and it is still calibrated. Of course that all depends on how well
you take care of your LaserBee.
It is still a good idea to get any LPM re-calibrated if you feel the
readings are not right.

Payment sent. Can't wait.

Received your order payment this morning.... Thanks.
I'll update the 1st Post on this Thread when your LaserBee 2.5W
USB LPM ships out..

I am really thinking about picking this up as I want to start building a few lasers as a hobby and this meter is certainly at a hobby price point. One thing I am curious about is how long after the laser is pointed at the sensor will an accurate reading be shown?

This LaserBee 2.5W USB is a budget LPM like our LaserBee A here...
http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/fs-5pc-new-2watt-laserbee-laser-power-meter-68597.html

and uses a larger less expensive and less sensitive Thermopile Sensor
just like another budget LPM. Because of that lower cost Sensor a
1000mW reading will stabilize in ~40-50 seconds.

If you require a faster response time them we would suggest you
go with out higher end LPMs like the 2.1W LaserBee IX....

or the 3.2W LaserBee II

so jerry

am i right in saying the smaller the senser the faster the response time? but along with that you need a better coating?

trying to learn a bit about LPMs...
