i know bro....
and i live in the uk, europe.
igor is based in europe so they should theorically take less to get to us....but considering you are from batch one and you havnt still received yours......i know we will not be disappointed by the quality of the laser and all of that, but man it is a loooong waiting........ i know there was bad weather in Slovenia last week but it was ok after a couple of days...i also know igor was busy with his real work.
i just hope to get it soon!!

Same thing here... it's been exactly two weeks since he sent it to me, and I'm in Europe too. I hope something bad didn't happen.

I'm also a batch 2 member and It's also my first-time buy from Igor (& I'm even closer to SI then you, pal  ) but if you followed the thread then you know that he went [way] over his head with the three+ batches of BRs...  

I'm just hoping that current "customers" won't scare him off from future community projects by sending "wtf" emails, etc. Believe me, I feel your pain (too), but it's just plain as day that he's commited too much too quickly and damned if we aren't lucky that he won't compromise on quality just to get us off of his back...

Last but certainly not least, when I bought from the DIY community, I accepted a few things straight off the bat:

• I will get only unique and/or quality goods with *real* quality control
• I will get it for an amazing price
• I will be able to ask for some level of flexibility (in terms of final product, shipping terms, etc.)

[but]

• I will have to be patient
• I will have to take a [calculated] risk on shipping, customs, etc.
• I will have to trust the community (having done my homework first, of course...)
• I will have to come to terms that there are no "consumer rights" per say*...

*although I know that I can discuss a problem with the DIYer 1on1 or, worst case scenario, bring it to the forums for discussion.

i dont actually even know if he sent it to me or not!!!!
last time i got an email from him (a week ago) i asked if it was possible to have my laser by the end of march the latest, he replied "that is more than a month and a half away!!!you will have it in a good week" still i cant understand if he posted or not.
does it mean you will get it in a good week when i'll post it?or does that mean i posted it and you will have it in a good week??
dont know what to say anymore, it isnt nice not to hear anything for sure..... :'(

only i cant understand if my laser has been posted or not and apparently i cant even figure it out as i cant get in touch with igor...
obviously i will not send him another email, although i havnt heard from him in a week, but it would be nice to know my laser is on his way!!
i know he finished it because he told me so!

Traveller - I agree with you, but have to add:
These batches of BR lasers have brought many new people in to this hobby, and for many this was their first order.

So not only are they new to DIY and forum buying, but they are also EXCITED to get the product they paid for, and NERVOUS about sending upwards of $260+USD to someone in Slovenia they haven't met or seen.  Yes, IgorT has a wonderful reputation and the quality is top notch, etc... but along with the normal build time and quality testing that this large of an order brings, one must also commit to the questions and 'bugging' that will occur as well.

Personally, I paid over a month ago.  I don't know many people that haven't been burned ordering something on the internet. You order enough stuff, eventually you will take a hit.  I think a lot of that plays in to people's fears too.

It's human nature to expect the worst. No information at all is worse than bad news as it allows the mind to create new and more terrible "worst case scenarios".

I am troubled to hear Batch #1 customers have not received their orders as Batch #2A and #2B were shipped way after #1.

I am sensitive to Igor's schedule, and to his work load.  In return, I don't think it's asking too much for a 30-second mass update to this thread regarding the above questions once a week... after all, these are the folks at the end of the chain who fronted the bill.  I am leaving for business in the 1st week of March and NEVER did I think when I placed my order in Jan it wouldn't be here by then - but it's my understanding that the shipping process for UK and USA customers was different for Batch #2 - and it would seem that the UK shipping method is much slower.

What Batch # are you? If you are in Batch #1 or Batch #2A or #2B, then yes, your order has shipped.

forgot to thank you jriga about clarifying my point to the forum....
are you in the uk?
you see the thing that makes me wonder if it has been shipped or not was that i needed batteries as well, although i ordered from DX, and i got them now!!!who though of getting my batteries before my laser!!!
im getting few other bits from igor as well and last time i "spoke" to him he said he should have been able to finish everything (because of the weather he concentrated on his lasers) but unfortunately as i said i havnt heard anything, so now im i waiting for a recorded delivery or not yet????see my "dilemma"????
