Re: FS: >110mW & >150mW Blu-Rays - available

Yeah, wouldn't that be amazing?

The laser and the driver can both handle so much more, but there is no diode that would make full use of that yet! :(

Anyway, the first "12x" was shipped to me for an analysis, but i'm not too hopefull... That thing is too far in the future.. I think the so called 12x's are HD-DVD reader sleds, like the PHRs..

Otherwise, i didn't know there were new posts here. Last time i checked my favorites, last post was FrancoRob, and so was now, so i thought there was nothing new.. I forgot how enthusiastic FrancoRob is about lasers.. ;D

I have two batches of lasers i have to ship out this week, so i am kinda busy.. But i hope to start breathing soon...

But yeah, the lenses work. I only ever use the AR coated glass lens in my 6x now. I actually feel bad if i have to put a plastic lens in to do a power measurement. ;D

I'm playing with them, to get a feeling for how they work. I also tested them on a red in the meanwhile.. A 265mW red (clear acrylic lens) becomes 310-315mW!

So i just need to get some funding together (don't want to be the only one without the lenses, after spending so much time and money on them!), and finish the lens nut design, and then we can do this thing!

Notice to old buyers:
I will also need all my old buyers to contact me about the lenses soon, so i can add your orders to the group buy!

I also hope to soon be able to offer upgrades to better diodes for old lasers. The PHRs won't last forever.. I just need to figure out the terms, so i don't get 40 lasers to upgrade at once.. ;)

But you can contact me about it (next week please).. I also have some other upgrades in mind.... I'll post more info when i get a chance..

I don't know which I'm more excited about, the next blu-ray Igor is making me or the <300 mW red laser! He has produced the most elegant and high build quality lasers for many of us and with the lenses that we will eventually have, Igor, your a lot like Santa Claus!!! ;D :D ;D

Francorob,
I shouldn't have watched your video. I'd been patiently waiting for the postman to arrive . . . . . now I'm anxious as hell !! :p

I'll be driving round searching for him at this rate !

After paying, how long did yours take to arrive (and to where?)

WizardKing:

Well, I live in Italy, so the postal service has been very fast: five days to get it! :)

You'll be happy for sure, holding this beauty in your hands!

I don't want absolutely to say that other lasers, manufactured by other really good members of this Forum have something less, the fact is that this laser is an intriguing combination of positive points, for me. :D

And a picture of the new host model lasers, with the GITD lens caps on.

The lasers are ON in the left picture, and the right is with the lasers off, immediatelly afterwards.
If you turn the laser ON with the GITD lens cap, it glows so bright, it's hard to look at it, even during the day!
At night, you could read from all that light. The camera can't even take the picture properly, and the lightst were on in that picture.

After you turn the laser off, the caps keep on glowing bright enough, to illuminate the surroundings at night!

How much for this model and what ever modul is in it?????

Ska8r411 I belive the models you are refering to are using the PHR diode and were putting out around 110mW of power, On the first page of this thread this model is available for $215, also shown is the is the newer version of this model as far as I'am aware it is the excat same host but with an upgraded heat-sink and a 4x diode which will allow you to reach powers around 150mW or close to 200mW with the lens upgrade. Both of these models will  make a GITD lens cap glow very brightly like a flashlight.

Hope this helps, please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this Igor

I already payed for my laser (actually 2 one 405, and a red)... I did not see the GITD picture that Ska8r411 was referring too, but I started looking for it, and DAAMN am I impressed...

It almost seems like the laser can double as a flashlight with the cap on!

Just in case people havent seen this picture, ill attach it.

I am just so amazed, and I can not wait till i have the laser in my hands!

I feel like a little kid again.

Hey laserman22 seems we both have the same order going ;), can't wait for these lasers!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D,  the GITD almost looks radioactive in the pic when it's on, just a blinding green light, wonder if these were the PHR lasers in the pic as if they were our lens caps could possible glow brighter still with the 4x diodes :D :D

That is my main model, the specs are in the first post. I try to keep the first page updated...
Write me an email, if you have any questions. Or at least a PM.

I am working on some new models tho. I'll post the pics when done.. ;)

It's interesting, that when i'm the busiest and don't check the forum, that's when the most activity occurs. ;D

If anyone needs me, please write an email. The address is in my profile. I also check PMs every day. But when i work from the morning to the evening, i can forget to check the threads...

Yes they are PHR803T diodes in the pic! I do use mine often as a light to see steps or key holes in the dark, works great! I think the 4X will show a little brighter with the cap on, but the bigger gain will be beam visibility imho.
