Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

I just got my IgorT Blu Ray 118mW !!!!! I am very happy. I have worked with alot of DIY laser makers and Igor is top notch!! I got the laser in about a week and half (including two weekends) and I live in California. The build is excellent, and I was really impressed with Igor's knowledge and understanding of how to make a really solid laser.

Everything spec'd out to exactly what he said. Also thank you Igor for the excellent response time on the emails.

I needed the laser in time for Burning Man Festival and Igor really jumped on the horse to get it to me promptly!!!!

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

I got my laser from Igor several days ago (121mw), and now there is one more satisfied customer.

Here's a review I posted for it, including some photos:

(this is not a link, since I'm not yet allowed to post links, I have less than 10 posts...).

Thanks again Igor for the laser and the service!

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

I'm very glad it all worked out as planned! You contacted me in just the right time, or it would have been impossible.

Good to hear you like it, and i can't wait for some pictures!

Didn't know you had a meter tho. Looks like my new measuring method is quite reliable. 2mW more than i rated it translates to the Kenometers being very consistent! Hope to get more such measurements soon!

Anyway, i hope you enjoy the laser very much, and if you should ever need any help, don't hesitate to drop me an email!

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

I've been on a burning spree since I got mine yesterday. It is easier to burn with it since I can focus it. I have to use stick-tac to hold a lens on the front of my RPL if I want a fine point for burning. I've been burning some stuff that nobody else here has mentioned yet. I'll have a video up soon hopefully.

Burning spree.. Hehe..

Can't wait to see what you managed to burn! ;)

Since you requested a higher power, you may want to observe the duty cycle a bit.. It's not like the diode is overheating, but better safe than sorry.. 2 minutes should be perfectly fine tho - at least until i finish the latest higher current experiments (i torture my lasers, so that you don't have to ;)).

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

It would seem, there are no more spots left in batch six - mmmmaybe one....

After these are finished, laser building may progress a little slower, as i really need to take a short "break", and focus on finalizing the lenses.

Shouldn't cause too much of a delay tho, so i'll still be taking orders for batch 7. After that, there may not be any batches anymore. I'll probably still make them on a one-by-one basis tho, if someone really wants one.

Thanks again to everyone for all your support! The project would have been completelly impossible without each and every one of you!

Helioplasma I don't understand your lack of trust in our IgorT. This guy is not only a great guy who is never going to do anyone dirty, ( it wouldn't even make sense, to do a shady deal to one after investing so much time, money and effort to so well serve so many laser folks), but, he's actually more engaged in comunicating and supporting all the forum people and following up to be sure everyone is well served than any laser company I know of. TRUST is simply not an issue when dealing with IgorT! Personally, I would prefer this guy operate on me if he was a doctor, And I would go out of my way to get laser help from so fine a laser technician, with such a thoughtful and giving nature. IgorT is a rare and very very trustworthy super good guy as many others will attest! :-X

^What he said. Igor is 100% trustworthy and extremely skilled. He sent me this free 317 driver out of the kindness of his heart - it's as small as a rkcstr and really well soldered!

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

Umm... Thanks, guys.. I don't know what to say..

VillageIdiot:

The drivers i sent you and Stan ARE rkcstr's drivers..  ;D
I just soldered them together and changed the current ranges, so they would suit you diodes..

rkcstr has been helping me A LOT, to get all the parts i need for my boost drivers. He buys them, and sends them to me, because i can't buy them directly. So i just bought a few kits from him at the same time.

To make the drivers smaller and more suitable for your needs, and the work a little quicker fo me, i decided to use his drivers, instead of making bulky 317s. It's much easier to solder something, when you have a nicelly made PCB, and he makes great PCBs!

Dont worry scopeguy, things got sorted out w/ him. I already preordered and I'm waiting paypal. I would've rather used CC because it's faster. But we are approaching the end of the month so I said to myself it's okay.
