FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

I am horribly depressed rihght now..

I just wasted all my free time from a week (and there wasn't much of it, due to my real work), not to mention a lot of money, on diodes which are complete crap.

I was under a lot of pressure from the Chinese, to get the testing done ASAP, to decide if i should buy the (supposedly) last 6x's or rather these new wonderful diodes - If these 150mW Nichia's should be real, buying GGW's would not be beneficial....
The Chinese kept saying they can't wait with the 6x's too long, but i had a good feeling about the Nichia's. Mostly due to the fact that the 100mW Nichia tested great. How could these possibly not be better?

So i wanted to get the testing done ASAP, which meant getting the torture chamber back up and running. But i should have just typed in the high resolution plot data and taken a close look at the graphs instead. But i was 100% sure that i wouldn't find any kinks. So sure that i didn't even look. The 6x's don't have them, the 100mW Nichia didn't have them, how could these?!?


Jesus. Oh well. Someone had to test them. I'll stil post the testing thread, but only as a warning, so someone else doesn't waste money on them. But tomorrow morning, i'm in too bad of a mood right now, and it's late...

The only good side to this is, that i upgraded and fixed my Torture Chamber, so i can finally do the testing on the 6x's i always wanted to do.



Anyway, i'll reply the rest of the emails in the morning.

hate to ask again, but was batch 3 shipped?
vacation is coming up and i will be out of town for a week starting on the 21st.

I did a quick test on the 150mW Nichia http://laserpointerforums.com/f38/150mw-cw-nichia-diode-lsp-41536.html

290mA puts out 323mW at 6v, LEDed at 300mA.:banghead:

I should have a little less (real) work this week, so i'll try to get the rest of the lasers done and shipped (non-batch)....


If someone has not yet determined the desired final specs, please do so and let me know in the summary. If you need help with the decision, just ask in an email. Everyone should get a reply today or tomorrow, if you don't, please write again, just in case your email got pushed too far back..




P.S. The severe depression has subsided, but the $200 i lost still hurts..

Franco: Looks like there is no alternative to 8x's yet. We are gonna have to go the full distance. At least the dillema is elliminated now, if that's a consolation. :cryyy:

Ok Igor, so go on with a BDR-203; in spite of the high average current settings, till to day I haven't read any bad news from the 8x owners....:yh:

An excellent selection of builds my friend. Didnt know there was such a big community for lasers. I see my hours disappearing on this site!

Somehow, got deleted from forum database. Now I hav that resolved i can post again. Not sure that is really a good thing. Do we really need page after page of people saying " Hey Igor, how about the shipping info on batch 3?" In my opinion, yes, we do.
