Two new heatsinks added to the Store:

SA-305 SAiK heatsink (12mm version only)
Host:SAiK SA-305 Cree Q2 WC 3-Mode 140LM White LED Flashlight (3*AA) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

P5250815.jpg

User is required to remove the flashlight's pill, reflector and glass optic in order to make room for laser installation. Heatsink has a 17mm pocket for a driver PCB or contact PCB. If the standard 3x AA battery holder is to be re-used, longer spring on contact board/driver is reccomended. Otherwise, can fit 26650 and 18650 batteries normally.

SAIK Heatsink 12mm module version = $20

Ultrafire C1 heatsink (12mm module version for now)
Host: UltraFire C1 18650 Battery Flashlight Torch Body Tube Host - DinoDirect.com
I love this host. Very high-tech looking.

Required to remove the little glass optic to install the heatsink. You can leave or remove the small plastic retairner ring which originally holds the glass. Difference is merely aesthetic. Heatsink has pocket for 17mm boards. Required longish spring for 18650 battery (so it can also fit 2x 16340 and 2x 18350)

C1 Heatsink = $15

What kind of modification does the SAIK for the battery holder to fit a 18650 or 26650?

None, if you use my heatsink the big lithium ions fit in the battery barrel no problemo.

If you do not use them, then you'd need to solder longish spring on the contact board or driver so you can reach the 3xAA holder.

But something tells me nobody will ever use the 3xAA holder.

Got my Phobos in the mail today! It looks like Canadapost had run over it with a truck!
There was a huge rip in the package, lucky the host didn't fall out!

Love the look and feel of the host! Can't wait to turn it into a 405 :)

Yes it does. Essentually the pill is integrated into the heatsink design, as it has proper 17mm board pocket in it. Heatsink being as massive as it is, it'll do a very good job of soaking up the heat of both high-end diodes and inefficient drivers. Thing weighs a ton! Metric ton!

Sorry to hear that the package for trashed. It seems to be a very rare occurance, every now and then, at seemingly random locations people report ripped out packages - happens without any pattern. First time in Canada now.

Glad to hear everything's alright. Let me know how the host performs in therms of heatsinking your 405nm!

I hear Eudaimonium spitefully runs his hosts and heatsinks over with a huge dozer before he sends them out.

Just kidding! Couldn't resist!

Just yesterday I raised an RMA case with DX because, out of my order which consisted of:
1x SAIK,
1x C2 host
1x Flat to round converter
2x 17mm driver boards,

I recieved only SAIK and converter, and instead of C2 I got C6 for whatever reason, and no drivers anywhere.

I hear Eudaimonium spitefully runs his hosts and heatsinks over with a huge dozer before he sends them out.
Somebody within my cartel appears to be leaking.

Excuse me while me, and my dear friends mister Smith and mister Wesson do some creative fixing.
