the status of my order said "shipped on the 11th this month. TODAY the tracking code said the package was send to its destination the netherlands.

While when i purchase something at focalprice or priceangels, it is being shipped MUCH MUCH faster.

I have this alot with DX. this is not a exeption.

Afaik DX still ships with HK post, but its taking longer for packages to arrive compared to a year ago. Back then i used to get them about 2 weeks after they were shipped, now it takes 3 to 4 weeks (to the netherlands).

And it does seem DX specific: i ordered a laptop battery on ebay that was also shipped with HK post that arrived in 2 weeks. Interestingly, this package had stamps on it, not the type of shipping label DX uses. Back in the day, DX used to put stamps on the packages too - perhaps those are somehow treated with priority somewhere in the mail chain?

They use Hong Kong Post for the free shipping.
Yeah, DX take their time to GET the item (half of the time, it's not in stock),
then they "package" for a day or two.
After they say "shipped", it's another few days untill tr.number shows up on
the HK post site, then the order spends a few days travelling through china
to the international hub.
Once it's finally on the plane out of china, it's just a few days till your door.
All in all, 3-4 weeks is about normal from DX to Portugal....

I guess they take much longer than other sites, simply because they get so
many orders....

It's never been a problem with the shipping for me and DX. Rather it is the time they take to actually source the products, package them, and then deliver it to the post office that has taken the majority of the time for me.

The time it takes for DX to actually send the packages is another thing enitrely. It used to take 2 weeks from getting the shipping number to having the package delivered in the netherlands up to this summer or so.

The latest shipments took 3 or 4 weeks, and i doubt customs are a factor here in the netherlands either. At least the packages were not opened by customs, since they normally put a sticker on them after opening and re-closing them.

I liked shopping at DX - sure, it took 2 weeks, but i knew that the moment i ordered. Nowadays it may take 3 weeks, but also over 5 in once case... and that were just a couple of plastic lenscaps that easily fit the mailbox.

The last thing i ordered was a c-media soundcard:

- order placed: 10/28/2010 9:59:49 AM
- shipped according to DX: 11/2/2010

.. 5 days, not too shabby, but then the tracking at HK post:

- The item (RT072704375HK) left Hong Kong for its destination on 26-Nov-2010

How on earth does it take 24 days between DX shipping the package and it leaving from HK?!

according to DX my order was shipped on 29/11/2010. being less than USD 15, no tracking no. was provided. and till date i am counting days. nothing arrived. costly arriving soon is better than cheap arriving late, and not so cheap though ......i will never deal with DX anymore. :(:(:yabbem::mad::mad::(:(:yabbem::mad:

lately DX has really started to annoy me, ill buy something and it will be in stock but then they will send me a message saying it isn't and i have to wait about a month. either that or my item just never gets packaged and sits there weeks until i cancel it.

Incase you guys don't know, Hong Kong shipping slows down A LOT this time of year. If you are in the US, its going to be even slower due to increased US security screening which delays things another week or two!

My last item purchased from Hong Kong took 29 days in the mail! (Registered mail).

Normally during less busy times, I get my orders from Hong Kong in 7-10 days.

DX I read is now using the China postal system, so registered tracking numbers will end with CN instead of HK. I think the China postal system is a little faster this time a year, but the last thing I bought that was shipped from China, took about 3 weeks in the mail.

DX site is extremely painful to order with. :gun::gun::gun:take care friends, if you can do without this vendor, try leaving them apart. probably someone carrying the items by hand and on two legs would have been reached faster than this.:(:(:(
