Mailman dropped it off today and I have tons of 18650's so I fired it right up. Yes the spot is horrid but I guess it's the nature of the beast.... it sure does throw out some photons WOW!
Closest laser I have to compare it with is a jayrob 650 that he built for me several years back, the divergence on the jayrob build is light years better but Trinh's beam just smokes it.
The jayrob build used an MXDL host and he was kind enough to include labels ......LPC815-419mA (I'm guessing this is the diode and power)
289 mW (power output ?),
and he used a Meredith glass lens.

What should I buy next?

Yes, divergence for red P73 is very bad,you can use a 3x beam expander from sanwu laser,

Man, there are so many wavelengths and powers to chose from. It depends on what you already have and what you would like to see most next. I have some rare diodes. I might part with one if you find you want that wavelength at that power. There are so many blues, greens, and variations of the two to chose from. I was running some of my newer laser last night. My 477nm, 488nm 493nm and 502nm. Really spectacular colors.

Gee, Jerry. Could you recommend a good LPM for the OP to buy? There are so many out there, what would you recommend.
