I thought I would post a thanks to Kenom...

Over 1 year ago I had purchased and paid my third Standard 2 Watt
Kenometer from Kenom.
The Kenometer package was seized by customs because some small
inexpensive electronic items ware added to the Kenometer shipping
box that is considered illegal to imports into Canada...
There is no sense in going into detail for all the old lady gossips on the
forum...(curiousity killed the cat). Yes I was aware the extra parts
were in the box because I had paid for them.

I had been in contact with Kenom over the past year and he did his
best to communicate with Customs to have at least the Kenometer
released... NO GO !!!

We kept the lines of communications in PMs and E-mails open between
us for over a year in friendly terms... not once did we get annoyed with
each other during this time.

After over a year of getting nowhere with Customs... we decided to cut
our loses and split the loss down the middle.

This morning I see that Kenom had sent me half of the payment I had
sent him for the Kenometer...

For those of you that don't know him... he is as far from being a scammer
as anyone can be... (I knew that else I would not have been this patient....
I only gave WL 2 weeks to make good)

You can definitely trust him to come though... He's not fast... :na:
but he is honest...

That's really cool that he would do that. I have friends that wouldn't do something like that for me!

Good beans! Thanks for sharing!

@ Morgan...

There were never any bridges broken between myself and Kenom...
as far as I am concerned... We have been in contact by PMs and E-mails
over the past year and communications had never broken down...
I can separate my business life from my personal life...and try not to
have one influence the other...

I am in contact with Ken via MSN IM, and I am aware that you two had some bumps on the road (I hope it's the correct expression this time :na: ), but seeing it ending well brings warm feeling to my heart (yes that is a Star Wars refference).

We need more good news like these on the forum, to level out a lot of bad ones about scammers...

I've worked very hard in dealing with customs to get his meter cleared and either shipped to Jerry or myself. They attested that since the additional items in the package was illegal that the entire package and all of it's contents (minus the cables) would be retained and destroyed for evidence. I was never given an opportunity to purchase the meter back in the form of a fine or anything.. even the appeal did no good. It was agreed that since it was nobodies fault, that a 50/50 refund would be issued. I wanted to wait until all avenues of procuring the meter back had been exhausted and finally recieved a letter last month stating the final decision.. Once there were no other options, I contacted Jerry and indicated to him that I would be issuing the refund shortly.

I'm glad that it's finally resolved although I would have much rather preferred that they had released the meter since it is not illegal to import.

I think it needs to be mentioned that I was patient for more than
a year continuing friendly communications with you without doing
a charge-back or starting a PayPal Dispute because I trusted you..

It must have slipped your mind...;)

Hey Jerry,

I was eluding to the same that Eudaimonium was. It may not have been associated with the above deal and I'm glad that it has been sorted. Others may have found it harder to resolve under the circumstances ;) . No offense meant.

Patience is always a virtue and you both seem to have worked it out amicably and are an example to everyone as to how to go about these things.

I'm as glad as Eudaimonium to see some harmony in a thread for a change and pat you both on the back for it. One up for the LPF, "lifers"!

I also hope Kenom's personal situation is a little better than we last heard too.

All the best...

Thanks Morgan... it is well received...;)

Yeah from what I have heard recently... I'm glad to
forward that Kenom's luck has finally turned around...
He has a place to live and has gotten a new job.:yh:

Maybe Kenom could shed some more exact light on his
turn around luck (or effort)...

Yeah, you were incredibly patient. Although I think by the time we finally got in touch with customs it was past the time to file a dispute with paypal. However, I don't believe even had it not been past the dispute time frame, I still don't think you would have filed. With my continued communication any time I had new information, I would like to believe that you trusted I would not do you wrong in the end.

As to the living arrangements, I'm currently residing with my ex and still according to the government considered "homeless". It's not the best situation as both my boys and I and all of my workbench/computer are all residing in one room. My ex and her boyfriend have tried to make me feel welcome, but honestly who could feel that welcome with an ex and her significant other? Anyway, enough said about that...

I have been offered a job at Walmart as a grocery associate. I have not started the position and cannot until my background check comes in. Why they do the background check after they have extended you a job offer is honestly beyond me, but I sit and wait for the results of that. I have sold a few meters and along with folks having me repair and build lasers for them, it's keeping me busy until I can start my new job. So, all in all, it's acceptable. Depression from being around my ex and her BF is getting worse, but I anticipate having moved into my own place by the time it becomes critical.. If not, I'll have to execute myself with a 445nm to the head! J/K.

My normal way of doing things using PayPal and not knowing
the Seller is to file a PayPal dispute before 45 Days no matter
what excused the seller gives me...
You on the other hand... I trusted with good reason...
Thank..;)
