DTR: Great know-how, great to deal with.

So, this weekend, I had the fortune to buy this amazing laser from DTR/Jordan.

The host was made to DTR's spec by Ehgemus. And by the details you can see what happens when you pair up an excellent host builder with an excellent laser builder.

This transaction was positive in every dimension possible:

1) Jordan's a friendly guy. More than can be said for some business transactions. He'll talk to you about the stuff, and you can tell he loves what he builds. It's not a "pay me my money and shut up" sort of situation. I would use the term "business relationship" versus "transaction" -- you have any questions, he'll answer them in full.

2) The shipping. Let me put it quickly:

-- I paid on Friday, 2/11, in the evening.

-- He shipped and got me a tracking number on Saturday, 2/12, in the afternoon.

-- The laser arrived on Monday, 2/14, in the morning.

... Basically, just a little bit over 48 hours from payment to receipt. He doesn't mess around.

3) The laser.
-- Expertly built. Completely solid. Feels great to use, focus, hold, and turn on. This is of course BOTH Ehgemus and DTR, but to stress the build quality of the internals:

-- DTR metered it at 2130mW peak. I metered at 2136mW peak. Truth in advertising? This thing is spot on. Averaged 2125 and only dropped down to 2120 after one minute.

4) Honesty.

-- Jordan took pics of some very small (most folks would consider them inconsequential) nicks around the focus adapter before I bought. I didn't even ask. He just wanted to let me know, fully, what I was getting.

-- When I misquoted the burn times, he corrected me, even though they were lesser than I thought. (Only >2w for about 7 minutes, not the 10 minutes I thought! Oh hell, whatever shall I do! :eg

So there you have it. Hopefully folks can use this experience as encouragement in dealing with him in the future.

All true DTR is great guy.

Ditto ^^^^ DTR is very trustworthy and honest. He has taken care of me a couple of times. I would absolutely recommend him 100% without hesitation.

Ditto on all the above... Hell I would even buy a car from him. (thats his 'hobby' when not building lazors!)

Just wanted to add to the DTR respect thread, just got a 620mW 405nm laser in an Ehgemus host from him, this thing is beautiful. DTR answered all my questions and was all around just a nice guy. He makes some great lasers, if you are ever on the fence about getting a laser off DTR, DO IT! You wont regret it.

I purchase my first blue laser diode from DTR. I added the Flex Drive and upgraded to the G-2 Lens.

I have purchased from people before on-line..and as most of you probably know - quick / informed email response-replies / safe-secure-quick-shipping and packaging not to mention someone that KNOWS what they are taking about AND an excellent product.. is a very hard to find .... try to find that all in one person... you have better luck winning the lottery... 4-times in a row - lol.... HOWEVER....Let me tell you.. DTR is AMAZING..he IS a jackpot.. he answered all my questions as fast as if was sitting right next to me in the same room and is amazingly knowledgeable. I order my Laser on a Sunday night and got it today(Wed. 3-days-later). It was extremely well packed - nice and safe!!

I put it in the heat sink I got from this other amazing gentleman.. and with great excitement, touched the leads to the battery... ::GASP::GASP:: - IT WAS BRILLIANT.. BLUE.. BRIGHT PIERCING BLUE..LIGHT I could see the air being piercing with it's silent intense blue beam as it transverse the room. The focus lens was a joy to turn... very smooth and precise - and excellent upgrade indeed.

DDR has provided me with excellent service - top notch.. if anyone has any questions as to the quality / speed or knowledge - question no more.. unless it is to ask him some tech question - he will know the answer .

I have no problem suggesting to anyone, if you need a 445-nm laser diode, flex driver, lens... Talk to him.. he will astound you with his service!!

After only dealing once with this fella I would still 100% recommend him every time!!!!!!
