So they cant even ban him ? he used their services to scam someone, i thought paypal works better if someone does something illegal using that ? what a jerk his name should be crap!

PayPal do nothing for the sellers. They always work for the buyers.

To make it worst it was sent as gift, so the chances of anything happening are even lower(I asked and they can't do anything).

Oh well, at least that's one more scammer exposed :)

I just saw your thread now. And this is a real common problem.

As I sell many lasers ... I do take the chance the buyer will mess the laser or get it at a broken condition for some reason ... and then complain.

In my case I always offer a repair. Even if I know for %100 he messed the laser and killed it. As I know what PayPal will do. So I rather save money and send him a new laser or something.

It is a hard thing when you sell something personal like in your case , you are not the builder of this laser. So you thought a partial refund will do and that it is okay.

I totally understand you , and I also thank you for exposing him. What I always do just in case someone will try to trick me at the end ... I take a video of the laser working and in the video I usually say the customer name or write it on a paper. Evidence of the item working before shipment. That helps sometimes.

Thank you for the kind words joker! It is indeed sad some people needs to act as such to get by in life, but the more of these type of people are exposed, the better people can become prepared and safe from future incidents! :beer:

Yep :) Just like an anti-virus. We learn from mistakes.

Take it easy. $125 is not a small amount to loose. It is hard to accept it when it happens. My first time was the same. I did not want to accept that I just lost $100+ for nothing. But we got to let it go. and proceed.

Have you considered epoxying your lasers together? There is a reason all notable sellers (laserBTB, CNI, WL) use a liberal amount of epoxy to hold everything together- harder for people to mess with then claim broken goods for a refund.

Sure, I'll send you his details in a PM :)

@joker

$125 isn't too bad, exactly! Life goes on. My labby should be here tomorrow :D :D

Edit: I just thought of this. At least I made $200 off of 5mW of 405 ;)
