Do you think that it is a good idea to back up your system online?

I have a server to back-up files so I'll have access to them at school, or upload them whilst at school.
But no way would I ever trust it to back-up my entire system.

I think it's a good idea to have your storage online and at home. If your home burns down, then you're backed up online, and if that back-up service goes out of business, then you still have your data at home, and can move to another service. And if you don't want to do that, it's a good idea to work out a deal with a friend where you keep his back-up and he keeps yours, so if one house burns down, you'll be safe.

But then again, I don't have any important data to save, so i don't do either.

I have a friend who is a system admin who would probably get sued if one of the systems went down, so we get into a lot of conversations about how circular reasoning and redundancy with regards to important data is really really important.
