Using transformers in series for power source?

Hello,
Im trying out a circuit to control a stepper motor through the parallel port. its not working, and my guess is that i dont have enough voltage for the darlington driver.
Currently, im using a DC transformer @ ~13VDC. The Darlington driver (ULN2803a) calls for 30V.

So, thats the problem. Can I use another transformer in series, or would that ruin said transformer?

You can use transformers in series, as long as you keep within the current the smallest one is rated for. Just hook the primaries in paralel, and the secondaries in series. If you get the phase right, you'll get double the voltage. If not, you get around 0 volts and should reverse the leads on one of the secondaries... easy enough :)
