I suppose there is software available that can predict those transits accurately for any location on earth, so it might be less of a lucky shot than you'd think. I suppose it would be possible to trigger automatically, though half a second is enough to do it manually if you have quick reflexes ;)

Frequent those sites often T_J?? I kinda figured you to be more interested in the lesbian sites myself.

Noooo, I was posting that for you.

Kind of funny that site had more pictures, and info than most of the other sites. I guess the gay population has more interest in solar photos than us. Who'd figure.

Strange that it can focus on something a hundred miles away AND something 93 million miles away at the same time.

I may be wrong, but wouldn't staring at the sun for hours through a camera be bad? I mean it's not like he was in the house with his camera and went "Oh shoot! it's 12:34:43 I only have 5 more seconds, quick grab, point, shoot...GOTCHA!" If it was intentional he/she must have sat there for a little while, staring at the sun..and...oh! black thing!...damn just another bird.

I don't think so. I'm sure you can program the camera to take a shot in a instant, the telescope to track the sun and you can predict the exact instant this things happen with programs :)

The camera was only exposed for under half a second. As Lucy said, its on a tracking tripod. You cant get any really good celestial photos without one.

You dont get to pick the nickname you are dubbed with. Its bestowed on you by friends. In my old neighborhood everyone had a nickname.
