I've about had it with them. Avoid this cable/internet/internet phone company at all costs. They average at least 1 day of network outage a month. The $50 per month they chage is a rip-off because of all the problems they have. Customer service is horrible and non-existant sometimes. I can't even reach a customer service rep if they have serious problems. WHAT THE FUCK!!! All they do is answer phomes and schedule/troubleshoot stuff. It's not like they are out fixing problems. The dumb asses are going to get an ear full once I can actually reach a human again.

The rant is over now. Take this as a warning about this company. They should be bought out or go out of business.

I have had Mediacom for at least 3 years and I have no major complaints.  My average speed is about 8 to 9 Mbps.  I have had it go out every now and then, but it's rare. In fact when ever it does seem to stop running, it's usually due to my router messing up.  I think that your problem mostly has to do with where you live.  Let me guess.....old neiborhood with lots of trees?

I am not saying that I am a fan of Mediacom, because I do know that there are much, much better cable companies out there.  However, I don't share the same problems as you do.

Their customer service in the Moline, IL area isn't to shabby either.  They have always been very curtious and nice to me on the phone.

Now on the other hand....My Power goes out about 2 times a month for at least 2 hours at a time. :)

Be happy with what you got.  You could have nothing.

The service has been restored in my area. They still ticked me off today though. I was supposed to have cable TV hooked up today. They said the technician would be here between 1 and 5. I told them I wouldn't be able to wait because of work. They said the tech would call about 30 minutes prior to arriving. That would allow me to get home about the same time the tech would arrive. I got a call but the tech had already came and went by the time I got home. After talking with them on the phone for a few minutes, they said the tech would come back. The tech never did show up...

They should make actual appointment times. This whole 4 hour window is complete BS.
