OP: there actually is a desktop thread around here somewhere but it is really old. :D

Here's my desktop, just pretend like that icon is with Firefox. ;D

@jwc: what version of linux are you using?

I use Arch Linux:
http://archlinux.org/

The desktop environment is KDE4, the window manager is Compiz Fusion. I made the window decorations and the color scheme more or less from scratch (stole a couple of buttons from another window decorator, but that's about it).

This is what my laptop looks like now, though I'm installing KDE at this very moment, so it's bound to look very different soon.

Here's mine.  I have a program, though, that randomly changes my desktop to one of the >1,000 pictures I have taken.  How long it will stay with this particular one is kind of indefinite.

Here is only 1 of 4 desktops that I have.  This is one of my work computers.  Yes, that is a Dual screen setup.  I use this one for document controll and Pro Engineer.  It's a little speed demon. :)

My other work computer is using Windows 2000, so I don't dare to show that to you all.
Otherwise the rest of my computers are at home.
