Glenn, as usual is just trying to spread the word on a GREAT DEAL on those shades & got a bit carried away is all. NO threats, NO vulgarity, just info. to save YOUR EYESIGHT. Stop whining about it, you got a junk filter. But yeah i'd be pretty pissed off if i was bombed with emails too. Im glad that my paypal account ain't getting spammed so much, but once in a while can't hurt.

I get nearly 700 spam messages a week on one of my main email account's (I am too lazy to change it). I don't see why you need to complain about ONE message you got. Glenn is a good guy and I wouldn't go and start a thread about an email he sent me. If I got the email I would forward it to my friends with blu-rays

I am on the list too with a few hundred address and one guy just Reply All to his email and I got another one.:yabbmad: I hope people on this list don't use the Reply All.

Really sorry guys! I didn't know about the BCC thing, and among my astronomy club, (who were a large part of the list ~700 astronomers in our "OCA" [and I did not send to more than 85 of them], and the rest are LPF sled and laser buyers I sold to), there has never been a squeak before... So , now I know, and I am so sorry. I hope you all feel better that this list is people who do not have a likely reason to spam or bother any of you. Sorry just the same, I especially apologize to Tech and TheMonk! , but thanks for letting me know of my ignorance!, and Best Wishes! -Glenn

Glenn is a good guy, I won't deny that for a second; I can't say he's too technically inclined though, this was a pretty bad mistake on his part.
I already pointed out the BCC function to him in an email, and he was apologetic while mentioning how the people on his contact list really shouldn't be the type of people to sell email addresses to spammers.
This is a pretty bad mistake, but it's a very common one, so let's not come down on Glenn too hard about this.

T_J - How was your personal information "compromised"? As far as I'm aware, your name and email is one amongst hundreds... Glenn did not intentionally release your email, nor did he do it for malicious reasons. Give him a break, don't expect Glenn/everyone else to be as "tech-savvy" as yourself...

I over reacted. I've cooled down now. I just dont want to start getting spam again. It took me forever to get rid of the spam. Mass emails are not good because if someone has an infected computer it will hijack the list. Anyway we are cool, so no worries.
And no I dont have a Junk folder. I've had a clean email for 11 years now and want to keep it that way. When I saw my address in a mass mail list it freaked me out. If any of you have ever been on AOL you know the hell a mass email generates,
