Nobody can honestly say that he ripped off dave. While what he did was not very nice, I dont think it was intentional, a perment ban may be a bit harsh. Am I wrong for thinking this?  He is a kid after all, and at least he has everyone here to rip on him and help correct his confused ways. It would even make for an interesting social experiment.

I can.

So can anybody who looks at the time frames involved. That's one of the main reasons I got so upset.

He wanted to get his girlfriend a laser
He couldn't wait for shipping from DX. Her birthday was in just a few days (IIRC 5 days).
I sent the stuff priority to get it there in time. Stuff arrived in two days.
We spent the next two days getting the laser built. We/he finished the laser. It is now one day before her birthday. WHEW! Just in time!

Bear in mind that nothing was ordered yet and he did not have a green laser to give her.

He got suspended
He comes back with the laser for sale.

His story is that he had already given a green laser to her before he finished the blu-ray and offered it to her so she didn't want another one.. When do you suppose he bought the greenie, got it delivered, and gave it to her?

He was either playing from the beginning or changed his mind after he saw that he was going to have something worth selling.

Find me another explanation and I will listen, but it must fit the time frame

He's not going to change, you can clearly see that in his posts. He thinks what he did was perfectly okay. Besides he was already given that chance. He came back from his ban saying sorry and he wants to start over and yada yada yada then he goes and pulls this crap. He even said he was "smart and making money" the cocky bastard. He thinks money is EVERYTHING, like i mentioned before, he was laughing about ripping people off when i had been talking to him on yahoo. I'm 17 and I've seen these freshmen grow up, into the same people they've always been, just older and smarter. Personalities hardly change. I can look back on myself and see I'm the same as I've ever been. Somebody who wants to change has to be VERY committed. He obviously doesn't REALLY want to. If he does change it'll probably be just to get us off his back.

I offered him three different ways to settle it without him losing any money

1) Sell it to me for whatever he had invested AND I would give him some cash for his labor
2) Buy the parts from me at the fair market value and then list the laser at a realistic price
3) Remove the parts I gave him and I would pay to have them mailed back to me. That way he could buy his own parts and then do whatever he wanted with the laser

Instead he offered to "split" the profits with me. I refused. It was my goal that he not profit from my generosity especially since it was not meant for him AND it was very obvious to me that he never offered his girlfriend the laser AND was lying about why she wouldn't take it. When I wouldn't take his only offer, he screamed "Mine, Mine, Mine" and "I'm not gonna get ripped off" and "Your not smart enough to get it" along with some name calling and other ad hominen attacks.


If he is let back in, it will be a very short time before he is banned again. In the meantime, he will spread trouble.

I guess we will see what happens if hes let back. Personally, I dont send such devices to minors in the first place, and have refused sales to persons under 18 for other reasons. This is just another reason to add to the list.

Dave, You are a Wise, kind gentlemen and I respect you as a person with great seniority.

However, I would have never had been so kind.  I noticed his behavior patterns from the start, the guy is terrible.  He is young, with little to no sense of responsibility, therefore without respect.  And being greedy, little honor and much self-absorbed ignorance, "a hole" expecting to be filled.  He chooses to exert negativity for his personal pleasure because...well that I don't think I could understand, or maybe I can, but I choose not to. He is, was, and will be (hopefully not for his sake) not worthy.  But please, don't ever change.  The world needs more MEN like you.

ahahhaa o we could all just point our lasers at his house so he knows the laser brigade is coming!

Dude I am so sorry such a nice & generous guy like you has to put up with this a$$hole's sh*t, I hope you can accomplish your objective ;)
