After reading through countless threads like these, it seems ALOT of people are deciding to just sign up and spam their products. Yes, I know it is a Buy Sell Trade section, BUT, iits not really a place we want all these companies spamming their products, thats what eBay and the like is for. I believe the forum B/S/T section should be used by contributing forum members only. In that thread, there was a suggestion to make the B/S/T section only usable by CONTRIBUTING members, and I believe that is a VERY good way of keeping threads like that to a minimum.

Now I don't know if a feature like this exists  in yaBB, but I personally think the B/S/T section should be limited to members with atleast, say 50 posts, and maybe +2 rep? That would also help with alot of scammers repeatedly going and posting sales threads.

What do the rest of you think?

for c0ld, is there a feature like this for yaBB?

Cheers  ;)

Are you talking about starting a thread, or posting in there at all? This would be a huge putoff for anyone who is trying to start their hobby if they couldn't reply, but I'm in agreement about the 50 posts, and will probably be on the two reps once I get one more :)

hey things & spyrorocks, long time no talk, hope all is well.

it is possible to make it so there is a post limit to see that section. the problem is people will not know it exists until they get a certain amount of posts. this might be bad, b/c i think many members love this section and would never know about it when the signed up.

maybe it would be better if i just moved these types of posts to the companies section?

May be you could make a B/S section in the companies section.. b/c i (personally) spend a TON of time in the B/S/T section. i do agree that the "adds" get a little annoying but maybe you could just cut a deal with them or something so the forum sees some of what ever they make.. and about the posts.. i (for one) lurk a ton more than post lol.. but i think 50 is pretty high and what would stop them from just posting 50 adds elsewhere? ;)

just my $0.02.. maybe even $0.04..

the problem with that is, the companies arent gonna bother searching the forum for the correct place to put their post, they will just see the B/S/T section and post there.
