I think when you type in an adress , your not actually accessing the website, your accessing Opera's servers, and THEY fetch the webpage you asked for , process it and then send it to your phone "compressed" . All this happens in the background of course, to you, you simply typed in the adress, and the webpage "appeard" .

Exactly :beer:
...And that why you may use another browser for banking.

@bobhaha
@ped

Finally some understand what I'm talking about :beer:

It's as easy as just not downloading some data of the picture and then applying a low quality filter to try and fix those parts not downloaded, methinks.

I agree that a mobile version would really help :) It should not be hard to make one for the ones that are experienced. And I believe there are such people here.

Yup, thats how it works. If someone reads my website using opera mini, i see a visitor like 'z17-08.opera-mini.net' in de statistics.

A mobile version of the forum would be very nice. The normal layout uses a shitload of data in all the avatars, signature pictures and advertisements. Also, i doesn't work all that well on mobile (just using the android browser).

Mobile versions are by no means outdated, but they are different than a couple of years ago. One of the things to consider are touchscreens, and the onscreen keyboard that usually takes up about half of the display size. This causes problems like not being able to see the original post while entering a reply.

very long ago I made a automatic page where each type of visitor received a different homepage.. mobile people had lower quality pics and a "mobile edition" on the footer, and as it was a game download page, the first page of non-windows users received a "your OS don't support etc.. if you still want to look the page click HERE".

So I think it is DOABLE! :beer:

Thanks! Once you have spoken to him, could you please answer the few questions in the original post?
