Pages not fully loading

Is anyone else having trouble with the forum today? I logged in at work at lunchtime and found that the pages were not fully loading...Got home this evening and have the same problem, there are times when all I get is the top of the page down to the blue title line, under the Skylaser banner ad, then blank.....

I may not be able to read any replies to this thread for that very reason..... :-/
Equally there may be other threads asking the same question that I couldn't read, if so ...Sorry!

* Edit ... This is no joke, the only way I could get back to my thread was by using the IE back button, if I refresh it doesn't load........

I have about the same problem...

I checked the speed of my broadband and it was completely OK, it must be the LPF server that is having a bad day.

Although, the pages are loading for me, but it takes about a minute every time to load.
BTW, how did you start this topic if you can't see anything below the banners? :-?

Got back in

, The forum index loads ok, so do some of the sub-forums. It seems that some pages with hardly any script do come up....eventually, so I can access from favourites and posting a new thread has a low script content....
I was trying to do a screen dump of a typical part-page, by the time I had saved it to a photsuite and came back the page was loaded fully.....2 to 3 minutes a page is not much fun

thanks for letting me know about this. i don't see any unusual stress on the server, and haven't for a few days.

i think i have an idea of what might be causing this. it would be really helpful if you all could post the exact link to the specific pages that are loading slowly. are all threads loading slowly, or only certain ones? i think this might be related to a mod, and if it is, i think i can fix it

please post links as it will help me troubleshoot.

i will do everything i can to get this fixed ASAP.

Hi Cold, it seems to happen with most full pages....even the main forum index comes up showing as far as, and including, the welcome subforum link....then the rest loads up 10 to 15 seconds later.

Came up as described in my first post....I timed it for a minute then came back to post the link, I typed this, went back to look and it still isn't loaded...

All pages are loading really slow for me aswell, the forum index nly loads down to the Welcome section, then it stops for 30 - 60 seconds

It took 3 minutes for my reply to cold to upload....and then by the time I got back in to look at thread cold had moved it again

Same problem here. It went on for a good couple of hours an it seems to be improving slowly.

Hold on. While I read all the replies while writing this response in my head, when I was finished reading, I noticed the quick reply box was half-a$$-loaded an I couldn't type yet. That was 2 min ago.

Same for me. Sometimes a certain thread or the index will load normally, but most of the time pages will not load completely, very very slowly or will not load at all.

i am not sure what is causing this, i have not noticed any problems on my side. i am still researching what could be causing this, in the mean time i will try to tweak some load settings on the forum such as making threads have fewer posts per thread and see if this helps.

i seem to get a very slow surfing speed....it happens to me on ALL threads, topics, sections, etc.

please keep the feedback coming everyone, it is very helpful.

i just tried reducing the number of posts that are displayed in a thread, and reducing the number of threads that are listed under each board of the forum. i think this might help reduce the load.

when pages fail to load, what does the status bar on the bottom of the browser say? e.g. is it trying to contact a specific server, script, or access a certain file?

I get a general slow loading speed also, almost like the server is heavily loaded and disk thrashing.

the server hasn't had a heavy load at all in terms of CPU usage or RAM. im not sure what is causing this slowness.

i am going to put the forum in maintenance mode for a few minutes to change a few things. be right back everyone, thanks for your patience
