It would be good if LPF had a "New Posts" section like CPF does so you can see all the recent posts in one place instead of having to scour all forums (fora?) for them.

Take alook around your main screen - Look under forum statistics :
Our users have made 43336 Posts within 3528 Topics.
The most recent post is Re: White matches or other burning tricks. (Today at 1:06am).
View the 10 most recent posts of this forum.

Anohter thing you can do is setup notification - that way you get emailed about hte subjects you subcribe to - you can set it up for as little posts, or ALL posts !

Yep, all good stuff which I use.

But not as convenient as being able to see ALL posts over the last 12-24 hous in ONE place.

Good to see LPF becoming THE place for lasers. Now way in front of CPF for lasers but not so long ago it was probably the other way round.

e-mail notification? No. That way, if ten topics are subscribed and ten postings each, that makes 100 e-mails per day??? Correct me if I'm wrong.

ten most recent postings: say I've been offline for two days. Surely, more than ten postings habe been made. So would I miss the rest?

Well, LPF isn't all too large, so I am now able to keep an overview of the threads I read and the ones that I skip, but suppose LPF will continue growing (which I am certain of), it might get too much for many readers.

So a "new postings" options would be really cool.

Thanks cOld. A 'new posts' so that you can instantly see ALL new post regardless of which (sub) form they are in will really keep LPF as THE premium laser forum.

Maybe I am missing the point - I THINK I understand what you all are asking for - but I love getting the notification emails ! I leave for four hours, and I have 693 emails in my inbox !!! Every new topic, or any reply to any topic can be emailed to you...I have a small Outlook rule setup to file them all in a folder, and then can scroll through them all :) Well, it may not work for EVERYONE, but I like it :) I am interested to see how this all turns out !

Yes SenKat I LOVE getting the e-mails too. But they only come IF you have already posted about a topic you are aware of.

Because there are so many different forums on LPF, you have to check each one to see if there is a topic you are particularly interested in. A 'new posts' section would tell you what is new across the board WITHOUT having to check each forum. Have a look at the one on CPF.

Cheers

wtf?!? 693 Mails in inbox? Talk about "keeping up"? That'd be far too much for me - I prefer a nice list showing me all updated threads, preferably with labels to those I have "abo'd"

I like it! ;D
There is a small typo "Recente Posts"
Also, I'd love to see which board it was posted in as well as the thread name.

I think I am missing something as well. I get the same effect by clicking on 10 most recent posts.
