i have a rkcstr and a 20x dvd diode set the driver to 100ma and the laser is dim at best ..what am i doing wrong it is soldered correctly didnt use too much heat ...all i wanted was to make a cheap burning laser to pop balloons and stuff. i should have just bought one...anyone have one at a reasonable price? thanks

What are you using for a power supply?

How did you measure the current of the driver?

Are you using an lenses?

Can you post any pictures?

im not too technical with this stuff saw the videos looked easy ruined a 300ma diode with a cheap made imitation rkcstr so i bought the 20x and a real rkcstr 3v . so after that fiasco i let my buddy set up the driver , hes an electronic guy for 20 years . im using 2 14500 in series

That should be enough voltage. Are the batteries fully charged? At 100ma 660nm is going to be really really dim, and you almost need total darkness to see the beam. You can safely drive your diode at ~400ma if it truly is a LOC diode.

you need at least 4.5 V to run this :) the driver needs 3v to run + 1.5 for the LD
