I've noticed that in the last two days when you go from one
area of the forum to another or do a page refresh the page
load time is ~9-10 seconds which is better than the 17 seconds
it used to take a week or so ago..

The problem I'm having is that the page locks up on 2 different
occasions while something is loading slowly in the background
during in that time locking up my Keyboard and mouse until the
page is loaded..

Is anyone else experiencing this....

I think it might be the TMart and CNI banners at the top of the
Forum pages loading slowly...

I browse with Chrome, and it does lock up from time to time at LPF. There is an advertisement below that crashes Shockwave Flash plugin. the tmart one seems to work fine. I don't mind all the ads, just wish the ads could just be static or gif images.

Edit: I just noticed a Ford advertisement that is shown about 10 times down there, and it has video. After the shockwave plugin crashes, those no longer show up. I'd see what advertisement blocking software people here recommend.

I use FF...

I don't mind the Banner Ads but like you said I wish
they just loaded faster.
I don't really want to block the ads but if it's the only
way to stop the freezing while the ads load I may go
with it...

Thanks for your input...

I just tested it again and now there is only one freeze
but it is very short (~1 second) as of this writing..
Much better than it was when I opened this Thread.

I do notice problems when browsing with ads on...

Even at work, with a slower connection pages typically load in 3-5 seconds. With ads on, takes ~15-20 seconds.

Since I like to open new tabs for everything, if ads are on, there are some slight lag/freezing issues.
