There's something like this in IPB, not sure if VB has it...

I've used all 4 major board solutions before (IPB, phpBB, myBB and VB), and the only one I've seen it on is IPB.

Hey jerry it's a quicker to use a persons id as a link. Instead of going to their profile and copy/pasting the url then going to your post to type... If you wanted to talk about me you could say "i had a wonderful experience with "@chipdouglas"....." And the "@chipdouglas" when you hit reply turns into a live link that just says "chipdouglas". Its just a convinience thing.

unfortunately don't think it's possible, vbulletin doesn't have feature for it as far as i know, would need to install custom plugins for it (if one exists) but i am generally hesitant to using them b/c they can cause problems

Thanks for the explanation... I just go to the profile to copy
the URL or just copy the UserName right off a post. That posted
link now takes you to the user's Profile like this....
(I just c/p your username from post #6)

You format it like you would any other link.

PHP:
Trevor

I generally just paste the URL and then preview or 'Go Advanced' so that I can fix the automatically generated link text.

It'd be nice if we could use "@chipdouglas" or something, but the above way is only a little slower. :)

jerry how do you get it to read just my name?

michael.

For example... go to my Username above my Avatar
in any of my Posts and Edit/Copy my Username then
just Edit/Paste it directly into your post reply box text.

No codes no extra typing...
Here's mine....
