It's nothing new that people are gonna have mixed opinions about Pokemon there has always been a hate it or love it following about it. Most people either play it or bash it.

I myself will not play it, but if it gets my little man outside and walking then I approve of him playing it with my supervision of course.. and I agree with Hap there are some idiots out there driving and playing or walking into streets but we cannot blame that entirely on the game(I said entirely) because some kids lack common sense these days!!!

I neither play it nor bash it, I still don't really understand the concepts that make it addicting. But hey, people like what they like. And I agree, common sense is starting to get a little less "common"

It doesn't interest me personally , but I don't bash people that wish to play it, each to their own and all that.

And you who don't like it can relax; I don't think it will stay popular ones the winter comes, at least in places where it gets cold. This might be just for the summer.

I hadn't thought of that lol. Here in Ottawa that will likely be a major drawback come January weather lol. Although I was able to catch several Pokemon and visit many Poke Stops just riding back and fourth on the train. :D

It is a possibility that the game will get some tweaks for the winter season so it work more like any other standard phone app, but I have no idea of their plans. I assume they want to keep making money so who knows..

Maybe some kind of seasonal hyper effective lures that just suck Pokemon in like a giant vacuum cleaner. Like the thing Team Rocket used in the Pokemon Anime to try and steal Pikachu a few times. Would still have the Pokemon outside but people could suck them in from the comfort of inside.

I personally don't play but one of my friends does and apparently my knee is a Pokemon hotspot.

I would like to apologize for my post Fire. I haven't really touched Pokemon since I was in middle school and as a kid in general. I remember once watching a Pokemon movie and being scared to watch it until several years later haha! :)

If you like the game go ahead and play it. Just use common sense, please!

One of my coworkers was driving me to my work location on base here in Afghanistan and was playing that the whole time he was driving, swerving a couple of times to stay on that road, BAD! I made him stop playing it while driving.

That's alright, and I apologize for being too harsh.
I actually rewatched the first two Pokemon movies because of this game, and the first one is so bad.. The whole idea with Pokemon is to have them fight each other, but by the end of the movie they hammer down the message that fighting is bad over and over. And crying together will bring a person who just died back to life... wtf?
The second one is also not as good and I remembered it, but it has some cool stuff in it. And the game is vaguely based on that with the red, yellow, and blue teams.

My interest in Pokemon went away after seeing the third movie when it came out (and I've not seen it since). It had all these new generation pokemon and everything just felt so bloated by that point, so I went on to doing other things. Things like soldering and electronics, which led to the interest in LEDs, and then lasers.

Though this game is special because it feels nostalgic, and thankfully only contains the first 150 Pokemon that I'm familiar with. And the smartphones today are by some weird coincidence very much like the pokedex from the show 20 years ago. It's just the perfect opportunity for this to exist now. I'm sure that they'll start introducing those later generations of Pokemon species eventually, and that will probably be when I lose interest again.

I find it hard to believe there is a level 36 already considering how much experience is needed per level starting around 25. Level 29 to 30 requires 300,000.

Not just making stuff up here.
