only reason I chose earthquakes is because they aren't predictable. Every other thing on the list is predictable,. and tsunamis are caused by earthquakes.

Defiantly an earthquake is what I fear the most. With today's technology hurricanes, volcanic eruptions and even tornadoes and tsunamis should be able to be predicted. This should allow at least SOME time to take evasive action. With an earthquake there is still no way to predict them and they always strike with no warning which is what makes them so scary. :(

volcanoes would be my second choice because the outcome of an eruption or explosion can effect the world for a couple of years. the ash will lower the temperature etc.

I voted EQ, the reason being is because they're the least predictable. One minute you're ok, the next you could be buried under tons of concrete.

I also feel that volcanoes are way over exaggerated.

The thing i fear the most is gamma radiation.

You know, when there is a lot more power released from sun than usual....

I voted for tornadoes....because they effect me every year...because of where I live.
+They aren't as predictable as you would think. Shoot...people die from them every year. There isn't nothing like the raw power of a tornado.....straw being shot into and or through trees....train cars being thrown 1/4 mile away....it's truely insane.

I personally have never experienced a strong earthquake. I have a feeling that once I do, my opinion will change.

Definitely the tornadoes and earthquakes... simply because they cannot be predicted any earlier than by a few minutes. My town was even featured on Storm Chasers on the Discovery channel, when they intercepted an F2 going right through town near the overpass!

Tonado

about 15 years ago I was driving south on I-75 from Detroit into Toledo, I am not from that area so I was clueless until last minute what was going on...

Just before the state line all of the draw bridges were up so the boats could get in off the water, traffic was backed up for miles.

I sat it out in a highway rest area with so many other people that the building was packed with frightened motorists.

When it was all over, the carnage was un frikkin real.

That is not far from Illinois and Iowa, those people who live there got more guts than I do.

Tornado carnage is truly unbelievable. After that storm, we had a single 2X6 plank stuck in our backyard at a nice 45 degree angle. 14 feet of it was sticking out of the ground. When we finally got it pulled out, 4 more feet of it came up from underground. We called our backyard "plank henge" for those two weeks.

The Expo Center got crushed... 3 people were inside when it caved. Only minor injuries sustained.

There is some warning such as smaller quakes beforehand. We have been having a serious number of 3.5-4.5mag quakes here lately.

Very true, yet tornadoes are still a trick to predict. We can determine if a tornado currently IS developing, but we can never predict where it will develop, and where it will drop at what time and for how long.

Earthquakes are very similar to tornadoes in this case..

Earthquakes are far more devastating in most cases, and tornadoes of the destructive nature happen more often, but only in few parts of the world.
