Avery suggested I create a poll to determine if there would be a conflict of interest with me being a seller, as well as a moderator.
It has been suggested in the past that there may be problems that arise with sellers who become moderators. This poll is just to gauge everyone's thoughts on the matter and see what you all think.
I'll just create an anonymous poll and let everyone express their opinion on the matter.

I feel your reputation here on LPF is more than enough to carry you as a moderator and a seller. Just my 2 cents.

Even though personally I think you're a straight up and honest guy,
I do see potential problems ahead.

For example, you being a moderator could be misused by you to "get rid" of potential concurrence.
Even though I cannot see anybody making concurrence to your give-away prices. :D

Let me get this straight: I don't believe you would abuse your power, and personally I would not have
any trouble at all with you being both a seller and a moderator.

I just wanted to warn you of the potential trouble that might ly ahead on this path.
I think you will save yourself a lot of drama if you decide to just play either one role OR
the other.
Time come, you might be accused of being partial, wether that was actually true
or nor not. If you have a thick skin, I say go for it.

But indeed the potential drama lurks ahead....

Just my 2cent.

Moh would make a fine moderator, and I don't see Him abusing His power.

Good Choice Avery!

This situation already exists. I may not have an "emporium", but I sell a lot of stuff here. I actually find myself being MORE cautious when contemplating moderator action on someone who is selling stuff. Another mod is affiliated with a more codified online "store."

It is pretty tough to be active enough here and to be here long enough to be considered for mod status without building and selling stuff ;)

I doubt that it will be a problem for Mohrenberg. If it is, we mods and the admin keep check on each other as well as on members of the forum :shhh:

vote = yes

aw well thank you.
I was just under the assumption that if there appears to be a conflict of interest, the problem is handed over to a different mod, or Avery to handle as to avoid accusations of unfair decisions and abuses of power.
I don't see it causing a problem as I have yet to have a conflict with anyone in the ~2 years of selling stuff on here (at least that I can recall).

but I thought it best to make sure there wouldn't be an uproar over it.
were I forced to choose, I would stick with selling.
Thanks for the vote of confidence and yes, the ice cicle is very nice. I know your all jealous of it.

I voted in favour.... but only because Moh sells me my "fix" for cheap ;)

j/k

I haven't been here long, but Moh's professionalism and follow-through have impressed me from my interactions with him.

haha Yeah, I think I am the only of the Super Moderators that does not do any building or regular selling lol. I personally don't think it would be a problem for one person to do both. Worst case even if something did go wrong it would be pretty quickly uncovered. My vote is for Yes.

Didn't we have this discussion about spyrorocks too?

I didn't see a problem then and I don't see one now.

Yes.

The only problem i see is iv'e suggested to Ave before (in a PM which went unanswered) that the MODS should be spread out a bit more (timezone wise) , Dave has things covered for the most part in the usa (yes im aware of the different timezones) dave's in Cali , Moh is in Missouri, i think more European / Eastern European MOD(s) are needed...often when i sign on in my timezone (GMT) , there are lots of unmoderated spam posts, or conflicts because most of the mods are in the same time zone....and asleep :) .
